Goodbye 2020!! End of year classes, Festive Season, and restart of classes 2021
My weekly classes are winding down for the year, and what a year it has been! I wish you all the very best for a wonderful festive season, spending time with your loved ones, and look forward to a fresh new year in 2021. Thank you to all my students for the support you have given me in attendance of my classes, and for your ever wonderful mosaic creations!
Mitcham class at the Red Shed, Mitcham Cultural Village, Mitcham, is the first class back on Monday 4th January 2021, and the Chandlers Hill, on Thursday 7th, then Friday 8th, its Aldinga Community Centre. Saturday 9th is the first Saturday class back, at my home studio, so I look forward to seeing familiar faces and new faces. If you are interested in joining a class, please contact me to book.
BEGINNERS MOSAIC WORKSHOP Saturday 30th January 2021
Saturday, January 30th, Carol will be offering a beginners mosaic workshop, held at her my home studio. This class will introduce beginners to the world of mosaic, starting with the basics. Learning about types of materials, substrates, tools, design, grouting and more. Carol, will guide you making your first mosaic, with all materials supplied. A fun, creative and relaxing day held at Carol’s home studio, south of Adelaide. Morning and afternoon tea is supplied, but BYO lunch. Cost is $150 for the day. A $50 deposit is payable upon booking. Upcoming exhibitions 2020/2021
I will be entering a new driftwood piece in the Mosaic Association of Australia and New Zealand, SA branch Exhibition in October 2020. Titled “Flow” the exhibition is on from 2nd October - 30th October at Pepper Street Arts Centre, Magill Rd, Magill, SA. The piece Im creating will be under wraps until the opening of the exhibition! Its a stunning piece of timber, to say the least!
Im hoping to have two pieces accepted into Brighton Jetty Sculptures, SA, in January 2021. I have enjoyed entering this fabulous event for the last couple of years, and look forward to be part of it yet again.
Regular Mosaic Classes offered by Carol
I offer regular classes at three different venues each week, (also a fortnighly Saturday class) and these are suitable from beginners to more advanced students. Mitcham Red Shed at the Mitcham Cultural Village, Princes Rd, Mitcham is on Monday mornings, 9.30am until 12 noon. Lesson cost $25. Central location for Adelaide residents. Beginners welcome.
Thursday mornings, my class is held at Jane Silk studios, Mitchell Rd, Chandlers Hill. 10am until 12.30pm Cost $25 per lesson. Beautiful relaxed environment, creative, informative and fun class.
Friday afternoons are held at Aldinga Community Shed, Butterworth Rd, Aldinga Beach. 1pm until 3.30 pm Cost $20 Beginners are most welcome, fantastic facilities, fun and informative.
Saturdays @ Carol’s. Every second Saturday afternoon 1.30pm until 4pm. Cost $25 per lesson. Limited numbers. If booked out, I am offering a morning class if enough interest. Next class Sat 11th July 2020, then subsequent fortnightly Saturdays.

VINTAGE CHINA/SMALTI LEAF WITH DRIFTWOOD WORKSHOP RESCHEDULE DATE
Hello all, as we emerge out of Covid-19 lockdown and restrictions ease, we are going ahead with a rescheduled date of the above workshop. Originally this workshop was on Sunday March 22nd, but the NEW date is now SUNDAY 9TH AUGUST 2020. For attendees booked in, please arrive at 9.45 am at the Aldinga Community Shed, Butterworth Road, Aldinga Beach, SA. Workshop ends at 4pm. Please bring your twin wheel glass cutters, tile cutters, tweezers, a palette knife, your lunch, and if you have some special china you would like to use please bring that along. Morning and afternoon tea are supplied. Balance to be paid beforehand or cash on the day $110. Smalti can be purchased from Mosaic Bazaar at the workshop on the day, and EFTPOS is available for this. Covid 19 Update
Hello all. Well, its been a strange and sad world over the last few months, and, due to government restrictions, all of my usual weekly classes also my workshops have been postponed until further notice. Recently (as of 11th May) there is Phase 1 of opening up Australia again, and I am now able to re-start one of my weekly classes at Chandlers Hill, on Thursday mornings, 10am until 12.30pm. Cost is $25 per lesson, plus your project. Class is limited to only 6 students, and bookings essential. Please contact me to book. New students welcome! My other classes usually held at Aldinga and Mitcham Community Sheds are still on hold until I have the green light to start again. Check back in here at a later date for an update. As for my workshops, they have also been postponed until I am able to conduct them safely. This will wholely depend on government restrictions, border closures and health guidelines. DRIFTWOOD AND SMALTI WORKSHOPS, SORRENTO, VICTORIA, APRIL 2020 *** Postponed until further notice, due to Covid19 restrictions***
Two workshops will be offered by myself at Sorrento Community Centre, Sorrento, Victoria on the following dates:
TWO DAY WORKSHOP Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April, 2020 This workshop will be an introduction to Smalti and to also working with Smalti in combination with Driftwood. 2 days from 10am until 4pm. This includes driftwood, substrate, use of adhesives, tools etc and also morning and afternoon tea. SMALTI EXTRA AND MUST BE PRE PURCHASED. Students will learn the basic fundamentals of Smalti production, a short history, and will create a smalti, piece as well as two other pieces, using driftwood throughout the 2 days. COST $300 A $50 deposit via bank transfer is payable upon booking to secure your place.
ONE DAY WORKSHOP MONDAY 27TH APRIL 2020
This will be a condensed version of the 2 day workshop, for people that prefer just one day, or also may miss out on booking for the 2 day workshop. 10am until 4pm Included, as above. Smalti not included and must be pre purchased. COST $150 A $50 deposit is payable upon booking to secure your place.

CHILDREN'S SCHOOL HOLIDAY FUN MOSAIC CLASS SATURDAY JANUARY 11TH 2020
A fun afternoon class for children, aged 8 - 13, to create their own colourful mosaic to take home. School holiday activity full of creativity and colour! Cost is only $25 for the class. 1pm until 3pm at Carol’s home studio, south of Adelaide SA. Great activity to keep the kids busy in the school holidays. Carol has the relevant clearances for working with children. Please contact me to book. ONLY 6 places available.

Smalti and Vintage China Leaf on Driftwood Workshop Sunday 22nd March 2020
I am offering a very unique Smalti workshop this coming March. Teaming up with my friend, Beate from Mosaic Bazaar, whom will be selling Orsoni Smalti and Morrasutti Eco Smalti direct from her travelling Orsoni Library! Students will each be supplied with a leaf cut out which has driftwood attached, then Smalti and the option of Vintage China will be attached to the leaf. Each leaf construction will be hand made by myself and each one will be unique. Limited numbers to 10 students, book quickly as already filling up. You will be supplied the leaf/driftwood, and some china will be available. But if you have a preference, or your own to bring along, please do so. On the day, you will be required to purchase your smalti from Mosaic Bazaar, and there will be a huge range to choose from. Such a unique opportunity. Also please bring along a palatte knife, Twin Wheel Glass Cutters, tweezers and your lunch. Morning and afternoon tea will be supplied. CAROL'S MOSAICS @ BLESSED CHEESE, McLAREN VALE 9TH NOV 2019 -31ST JANUARY 2020
I am showcasing my mosaics at the lovely cafe, Blessed Cheese, Main Street, McLaren Vale, South Australia, from Saturday 9th November 2019. My mosaics will be exhibited and for sale at this lovely cafe for 3 months.
MEET AND GREET CAROL!
Sunday 10th November and Sunday 17th November, I will be at the cafe betweem 12pm and 3 pm for a meet and greet/chat. Buy yourself a coffee or a wine, or even lunch and enjoy my mosaics and say hello.
The cafe is open 7 days a week.
