Australian Native Flora and Birds Smalti Workshop, will be held at Aldinga Beach, South Australia. Mosaic Bazaar and Smalti will be present on the day with their incredible travelling Smalti Library for students to purchase as they create on the day. Unique in Australia!
10am until 4pm, held at Aldinga Community Centre, Aldinga Beach, South Australia.
Cost $150 plus your Smalti. A non refundable deposit of $50 is payable upon booking to secure your place. balance payable on the day and Smalti is purchased on the day, as you create.
Boards, Adhesive etc is supplied to students, and as you work on your mosaic, you can select your colours as you need to. This is a fantastic, unique workshop in Australia, exclusive to CMosaics, Mosaic Bazaar, and Smalti Australia.
Students can bring along 2 possible designs to create (colour printed out) or I will have possible designs to choose from. If you are a beginner to Smalti, you are most welcome to join this workshop, and myself and Beate will guide you through everything you need to know to start you on your mosaic journey.
You will need to bring the following:
A small palette knife
Tweezers
Twin Wheel glass cutter/nippers
A small, old hand towel, a couple of bamboo skewers
Your lunch
Notebook (optional)
Container for Smalti (optional)
Beate and I will take your through all the basics of a Smalti mosaic, the history of production, types of Smalti, cutting, designs, techniques.
