This relaxing, fun, creative and funky workshop will be filled with colour and fun throughout your day. Creating a hand designed fish cut out, and using all hand made ceramic tiles, shapes, and strips. Your funky fish will be unique, bright and colourful. A great introduction for the new student to the world of mosaics. Held at Carol’s home studio, 10am until 4pm, you will learn the basics of mosaics, including materials, substrates, adhesives and grouts, design, and cutting techniques. An enjoyable, relaxed, informative day, small class, maximum four students, with plenty of one on one tuition. $150 for the day, includes all materials for your first project, morning and afternoon tea provided. These two, One day workshops, will be conducted at Tailem Bend Community Centre on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th March, 2022. An introduction to Smalti, for mosaic enthusiasts that have not used Smalti in their mosaic journey, or for students would like to further their knowledge in use of Smalti in mosaics. Smalti, is without doubt, the most beautiful materials to use in your mosaics, and I am passionate about this medium and sharing my knowledge. Beate Linckelmann, from Mosaic Bazaar, will be present with her travelling Smalti Library, where students will be able to purchase as you go, and select your Smalti for your wall hanging. Each student will be supplied, a substrate for their mosaic, adhesive and grout (combination glue) but will need to purchase their Smalti on the day separately. Morning and afternoon tea is supplied. From Friday 1st October, I will be hanging my mosaic art at Mockingbird Lounge, Glenelg, South Australia, for the whole month. Small, affordable pieces will be available, with Smalti and wood mosaics featured, plus some stained glass pieces. Fantastic cafe and library/book shop, seaside, at Glenelg. Artist friend, and talented illustrator, Peiwen Liao, will also be hanging some of her quirky, and delicately stunning illustrations, also available for purchase. Come along and enjoy a coffee, and enjoy our art.

Smalti Pansy flower workshop held at Aldinga Community Shed, Aldinga Beach, SA, on Sunday November 28th 2021. Myself, and Beate Linckelmann, from Mosaic Bazaar, will again be teaming up to conduct this workshop. Beate will have her travelling Orsoni Smalti library at the workshop for students to pick as you go Smalti, on the day. Smalti in all its glory, with second to none colour choice……. a “Lolly shop of Smalti”!
There will be more information forthcoming, but this workshop will be suitable for beginners to Smalti, and also students wishing to further their skills with Smalti. The Pansy flower will either be used as a garden stake or a wall hanging. Carol will be demonstrating cutting techniques, use of Andamento within the Pansy, how to apply adhesive, design and colour choices.
Included will be a Pansy cut out shape, use of adhesives, etc. Smalti will be extra, as you choose throughout the day. Cost $150 for the day. ($50 non refundable deposit required to secure you place) Please contact me to book

I will be entering a new driftwood piece in the Mosaic Association of Australia and New Zealand, SA branch Exhibition in October 2020. Titled “Flow” the exhibition is on from 2nd October - 30th October at Pepper Street Arts Centre, Magill Rd, Magill, SA. The piece Im creating will be under wraps until the opening of the exhibition! Its a stunning piece of timber, to say the least!
Im hoping to have two pieces accepted into Brighton Jetty Sculptures, SA, in January 2021. I have enjoyed entering this fabulous event for the last couple of years, and look forward to be part of it yet again.
