This fun and informative workshop will be held at my friend’s beautiful studio at Chandlers Hill, in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia on Saturday 13th April 10am until 4pm.
A great day for people keen to learn the basics and start their mosaic journey and for people already on thier journey but wanting to learn more, add to their skills and knowledge.
Students will be supplied all materials for a wall hanging, and Carols will be covering all the mosaic essentials. Tools and equipment, materials, adhesives, grouts, etc, substrates, and basic design and cutting techniques.

I will be teaching in conjuction with Beate from Mosaic Bazaar and Smalti Australia will be showcasing her unique, huge, STUNNING travelling Smalti library to give students the opportunity to purchase a wide variety of smalti for their creation.
A basic history of Smalti, types of smalti, learning cutting techniques, adhesives to use, designing your mosaic, and how to continue the process, will be shared. This workshop is suitable for beginners to advanced students.
Students will have a choice of one of four creations.

Beate Linckelman, from Mosaic Bazaar and Smalti Australia, and I, will be conducting a Smalti Workshop on Sunday 12th November, 2023 at Aldinga Community Shed, Aldinga Beach, South Australia.
This is a tentative date set, and subject of workshop has not been decided as of late June 2023. The travelling Smalti Library will be present in all its glory at the workshop, where students will learn about Smalti, and will be able to purchase Smalti as they create on the day. A unique workshop in Australia.

Fantastic opportunity to learn how to use and create with Smalti. Held on Saturday 3rd June at 29/37 Mitchell Rd, Chandlers Hill, South Australia, this will be a mixed Smalti workshop, with students choice of either a recycled metal Mandala, OR an Australian bird garden stake (Kookaburra, Lorrikeet or Galah)
10am until 4pm, arriving at 9.45. COST $140, plus Smalti. Beate, from Mosaic Bazaar, will be present, with her stunning Smalti library, for students to chose/select their Smalti as they create! A unique opportunity in a workshop.

A CHOICE of Mandala or birds will be on offer, but students choosing Mandalas will need to be able to bring extra recycled metal, bolts, washers etc to add to their Mandala. I will be providing some though. Students will recieve a substrate for their mosaic, and also adhesive to use on the day. Students making abird garden stake will also recieve a garden stake to hang their bird. Please let me know which bird you would like to make, when booking.
WHAT TO BRING: Twin Wheel glass cutters, a small palette knife, tweezers, notebook, a small towel, and your lunch. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided.

Carol will be conducting a Beginner’s Mosaic Workshop on Saturday 22nd April, 2023, 10am until 4pm, at her home studio, south of Adelaide. An informative, fun, creative day, Carol will take you through the basics of mosaics. A great way to start your journey, learning face to face with an experienced mosaic artist. You will learn about materials, tools and equipment, substrates, adhesives and grouts, design and cutting techniques. Another year of fantastic sculptures, both indoor and outdoor and indoor wall hangings and mosaics at Brighton Jetty Sculptures, Brighton, South Australia 18th - 29th January. This is one of my two pieces entered in this huge exhibition, “Vermillion Biscuit Star”. Both this piece and my second piece “Fishie”are for sale at the exhibition, both are created from Smalti in combination with driftwood. If in SA please come along to this outstanding exhibition.

This fun, tasty, informative mini workshop, will be held at Carol’s home studio and garden, south of Adelaide, 6pm until 8.30pm on Saturday 25th February 2023. You will create a Smalti Pinwheel, on an old CD or DVD, enjoy a glass of wine, some cheese and other yummy nibbles, while you create and have fun. Cost $70. (includes wine and nibbles, Smalti etc) BYO your CD.

During this fun, informative and enjoyable day, I will be taking students through the basic fundamentals of mosaics, including substrates, materials, adhesives, grouts, tools and cutting techniques, and design. Included in the cost is all materials for students to begin their first mosaic, a wall hanging, with a choice of designs. All students need to bring is their lunch.
